Jack Stuef Found Forrest Fenn's Treasure

Many treasure searchers, adventure seekers, and interested parties have wondered who found Fenn's treasure since the "chest was found" in Wyoming announced in June of 2020. People have speculated that it was all a hoax or a publicity stunt and that the treasure chest may actually still be out there. Theories began to sprout that maybe even Forrest faked the whole thing or at least the "find" to prolong his legacy and immortalize the chest into the annuals of history in a way that would keep treasure chest seekers combing the Rocky Mountains for centuries. That would be one way to securely solidify your place in history after all.

However, this is not the case... at least this time. The finder of the Forrest Fenn treasure chest was announced on December 7th, 2020. His name is Jack Stuef. He is a medical student in Michigan with actual student loans (as some have speculated to be false from his previous Medium article on the chest find). He also confirmed his find on his Twitter account. You can check out the tweets below.

Jack's reasoning for coming forward is the hope that revealing the finder of the chest will lay things to rest. The search landscape needs some tranquility and lawsuits need to be dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner and without adding undue burdens to the Fenn family since Forrest passed away. Hopefully this will lay to rest the turmoil experienced by seekers, speculators, and everyone who loved the idea of The Thrill of The Chase. There is always yet one adventure left to be had.

And no, Jack is not revealing the final resting place of the treasure chest. That place will be hidden for the ages.
