On May 13, 2011, Lorene Mills interviewed Forrest Fenn on the Report From Santa Fe show. They discuss Forrest's The Thrill of the Chase book in greater detail, what exactly is in the treasure chest, the nine clues to finding Forrest Fenn's treasure, how to read the poem, how to study the book, and other ideas around that topic.
At around 27 minutes in the video, Forrest Fenn says to "read the book just normally, the poem and the rest of the book, and then go back and read the poem six, eight, ten times. Study every line, every word. Then after you do that, read the book again slowly with the idea of looking for clues or hints that are in the book that will help you follow the clues."
This video is from early 2013. Jennifer London reporting for HDNet and World Report interviews Forrest Fenn in this short news story. Jennifer asks Forrest to start at the beginning and tell viewers how the thrill of the chase and the hidden treasure idea all started.
Forrest talks about his battle with cancer and how he wants to encourage others to get out into the outdoors. He goes into what exactly in the his treasure chest and that he put it in a very dear, secret, private place. When asked how he picked the spot, he said it was a very special place to him (very personal), and he knew exactly where he was.
